The Wood - Series 1
A Bushido Campaign by David Holden
Introduction
The Wood is a short campaign adventure for the Bushido role-playing game, published by Fantasy Games Unlimited in 1981 (second edition) and now back in print. From the same writer as The Stone, this campaign takes place on the northern island of Hokkaido in the mid-15th century, 180 years before The Stone.
Follow the adventures of Takeda Miyoshi, Komparu Mineo, Kitatsuda Yoshinari, Miura Kachamaru and Murata Hakuseki as they come of age in the frontier lands of Ezo.
Campaign Summary
Episode 1. The Apprentice Samurai. Six young men are brought together as the latest members of the Kakizaki clan to come of age and become samurai - but to gain their second sword they must first kill one of the hated Ainu.
Sideline. A Brush with High Society.

Sideline. Affair, and a Prayer.
Episode 2. The Hunt. The Kakizaki send hunting parties out to kill Ainu. At first they meet warriors, then farmers, and finally families. The young samurai are surprised by their own varied reactions.
Episode 3. The Wood. Having joined the Ainu, the former samurai need to regain some honour. After a few minor tasks, they help the Ainu make a stand to protect their sacred wood.
Interlude B. The Wife and the Sea Captain.
Episode 4. The Revolt. The Ainu leader asks the heroes to help his people revolt against the Kakizaki. After the fighting, the heroes help negotiate a truce and protected homelands.
Interlude E. Enter the Dragoons.
