Being a small and sickly child, and having 3 warrior brothers to continue the traditions of the clan, he was apprenticed to the witch Zeniba whose cottage was in the marshes north of Kaminokuni. Zeniba quickly recognised the boys quick intellect, confidence, strength of will and cunning nature. Being a cagey old witch she trained him in the arts of public speaking, where his ability to form clever arguments mixed in with cunning flattery enabled him to win the confidences of those around him.

As his apprenticeship continued he learned the subtler of the schools of magic; The Illusions of the school of water and the healing of the earth.

Though possessing no talent for fighting he is quite capable of supporting a war party. As such he has now been sent out to gain renown for the clan. Due to his lack of physical development he has been provided with a horse for travel; and indeed is a fine horseman. He does, however, need to learn some of the arts of combat in order to progress.

He appears initially to be unremarkable, quite small and with a 'comfortable' build. Soft rather than corpulent. However he has a confident demeanour and affable nature which can win people over, especially if he has time to talk to them. He enjoys the comforts of the home but is capable of existing in the wilds. He is easy to underestimate and enjoys letting people do so before he outwits them. He very much prefers to out think enemies, by fooling them or subverting their allies. rather than fight them head on. He is handsome in a gentle way and has a winning smile. However his eyes betray nothing but the steel within. Very much an iron heart in a silk glove. He cultivates a dandified image and languid manner. He will happily use others to further his cause but is still on the side of right and understands his duties. He is not above enjoying his status.
