Character Profile:

Yoshi

Name:Kitatsuda Yoshinari
Birthplace:Kikonai, Ezo Island
Background:Yoshi was the second born son of Akiko and Miachori - a quiet, yet successful man whose skills of diplomacy are well known in many reaches of the Kakizaki clan.

Yoshi has, as is only appropriate, the utmost respect for his father, but has not inherited his father's quiet nature. In his youth Yoshi spent much time learning from his grandfather, a well respected Samurai - and it is his grandfather's swords that he carries with some pride. Yoshi has, however, inherited his father's appreciation of the finer things in life - and takes particular care over his garb and general appearance. He is stylish to a point.

Since the disappearance of his older brother Meyonari (who failed to return from a hunting trip when Yoshi was 10), Yoshi now carries the responsibilities of the eldest son - a burden that he wasn't initially prepared for. However, he has grown in maturity across the last few years and faces the future with an upbeat disposition.

There is an element of unease surrounding the disappearance of Meyonari - to add to the disquiet of losing an eldest son, some say that Meyonari was involved with "inappropriate dealings" and got his comeuppance. These are no more than rumours, quickly silenced around any family, but something isn't right about the whole episode. Yoshi has a younger sister and brother of whom he is fiercely over-protective.
