Traumatised by his early adventures, Yoshi Yeesu hates his father's decision to leave the Wajin world of clean beds on wooden floors for the Ainu world of skins and moss on a dirt floor and wholesome food.

He also despises his father for disappearing leaving him to support his mother, brother and sister especially as his mother was never very fit.

So he has decided he wants to escape the life of an Ainu and become a Wajin. He has made it his aim to convert as many of the youngsters to his ideals as possible seeing the older generation as stuck-in-the-mud no-hopers.

To that end he extols the virtues of what he has seen and done to anyone who will listen. Like ride a horse, killing ghosts and eating proper food.

As a result he has avidly learnt anything his father and other ex-Wajin could teach him about Wajin life. With his father's blessing he has learned more about Wajin woodworking from Kokuma's wife, using it as an excuse to get out of learning herbalism and, as his father was more interested in teaching his sister herbalism, he never pushed the subject.

He wears his interpretation of Wajin clothing made by his doting mother. He is ready to take on the world.
