Jedi Mistress Tisha Luce.

Tisha Luce is a Jedi Master. –Or as she prefers ‘Jedi Mistress.’ She was born and raised on Cerea, a quiet, unassuming planet, which some regard as backward, for the Cereans are not great lovers of technology. She belonged to a large influential family of plantation owners, who farm vast tracts of land on Cerea. She had a troubled childhood, plagued by ill health, though she showed a strength of will that brought her some small repute. While visiting an off-world medical facility, she was spotted by a Jedi Padawan, who felt the force strongly within this sickly child. He alerted his master, and the council approved her transfer to the academy. Her health gradually improved, but though strong in the force, she tended toward academic study and quiet contemplation. It was thought that Luce would not pass the trials of the Jedi, but her studies and strength of mind served her well and she graduated early.
Still a quiet and contemplative soul, Tisha Luce is often underestimated. In fact very few save her Master have ever seen her draw and use her lightsabre. Mistress Luce served the Jedi and the Republic well, becoming a travelling ambassador for her order. She took a Padawan when she was but twenty-two. –A record for her race, but not for the order. Her protégé was Yulia Jenkins, a Corellian orphan. Known as a disruptive firebrand, and marked for failure but who surprisingly graduated to become a full Jedi knight. Yulia was known to be troubled by family affairs back in her home town, but under the tutelage of Mistress Luce, Yulia put aside family things until she was trained and confident enough to sort them out properly instead of rushing back and tinkering.
Privately, Mistress Luce likes nothing better than herbal infusions and meditation. She gently mocks her Cerean heritage, in fact one of her favourite quotes is ‘This is a two-brain problem.’ She has clashed with the council over her approach to dilemmas, but has won the argument many times, showing that quiet diplomacy can be as effective as aggressive negotiation. Some have tipped her for high office, though this becomes less likely as the Jedi are drawn deeper into the clone wars. She has also called Master Yoda a ‘little green liar’ to his face on more than one occasion, so this might have some bearing on her career. Her suggestion to take on a new 'firebrand' Padawan has caused some additional ripples among the Jedi order, but if anyone can moderate his temper, it is Mistress Luce.
