Age - 44 -ish.
Castor is the scion of a prominent Corellian merchant family. He had a mildly mis-spent youth running one of the family freighters out on the rim. –A little smuggling is considered good practice for an up and coming merchant prince. When he was older, and a little more respectable, war with the separatists broke out. Since the Federation were keen on stamping out independent trade, the Corellians sided with the Republic. –Well most of them did. A few families threw in their lot with the Separatists in the hope of building their fortunes. –The D’Estrellas were firmly in the loyalist camp.
Looking to serve in a more active capacity, young Castor joined the Corellian space marines. He has had a distinguished career to date, and has so far risen to the rank of Major. He commands a battalion of clone troopers trained for starship actions. He has recently worked with two apprentice Jedi and their crew of freelancers on a couple of occasions and understands the value of unconventional operations. He is definitely not a by-the-book officer. Under normal circumstances he would probably not have risen above the rank of Major, however the nature of the clone wars and the rapid expansion of the military establishment has given him opportunities that would never arise in peacetime. –Expect him to be a general before long.
Castor is not what you would expect of a military officer. Despite his noble upbringing, he is irreverent, crude, raucous and hard-drinking (except on duty) He also likes outsized death-sticks. Despite this, he is approachable, gallant, brave, and he leads from the front. He is willing to listen to outrageous schemes to solve problems and is willing to use his family connections and is willing to use them to get help for those who need it. He will readily go out on a limb to help someone that his instincts say is on the level. –Hence his help in fitting out the expedition to recover Storm Cutter for a group he had barely met. He was also instrumental in getting them to rescue Reena Groth from the vile gangster Igbo of Rodia. –All to root out a Twi’lek spy who was helping to run a separatist smuggling operation on his ship, the Tenacity.
He favours an outsize heavy blaster pistol ( a BlasTech Thunderer ) as a personal sidearm. –He probably has a hold-out blaster tucked away somewhere too. –In his position, one can never be too careful!
